k i'll write some stuff abt my trip now...for myself to remember at least =D
general statements :
1. there are wayyyyyyyy more blacks than whites there
2. they have a higher cost of living even though they are 1247210940129740x poorer
3. its harder to find an ugly white girl than a hot one most of the time
First 3 days were spent in cape town...that place is B-E-A-OOOOTIFOOL! Sea on one side, mountain on the other. Sure, there are other places in the world that have that too, but cape town still looked the best to me..as a tourist anyway. We went to some ostrich farm where i got to sit on a poor ostrich...the guide was like...oh its safe! hes very docile and he doesnt try to throw you off! sure he doesnt! i mean hes freakin bolted and chained to a wooden frame htf does he move. Oh well...those things have eyeballs that weigh 60g and brains that weigh 40...so ummmm...yea.
Went out to see seals on an "island". I say that cuz it was just this rock platform with a ton of seals which STANK to the core. We were lucky cuz on the way back we saw this hugeee pod of dolphins...i like how they always come up next to vessels and "escort" them. We had a lobster lunch that day...and it sucked. Plainly put, after making that dish for 10+ years, the cafe still sucks at it. And it looked more like crayfish than lobster!@$!@ Went to one of the beaches where jackass penguins stay too haha. they looked retarded to say the least.
Day 3 : Went to Stellenbosch...nice name for a nice place. One of the larger wine producing areas in SA. Had a wine tasting session and my parents finally learnt that you can't keep white wine. That would explain the 2 bottles of wine we had on xmas day. >.> Had a horrible lunch at one of the vineyards that day though...was supposed to be good but I didn't think so. Went to table mountain at night too....despite it being cold and shit, the view of the city was nice...moon was almost full too ^^
Day4 : Flew off to Johannesburg early in teh morning. Went to some boring place like one of e flea markets and stuff...didnt do anything lol
Day 5 and 6: Safari days! Exciting! I've said it 129471 times already and i'll say it many many more times. This was the best part of the trip...driving around in the game area was cool enough...like discovery channel just that you're the one doing the program, not just watching. The ranger's big ass rifle was also nice to look at lol. We had an evening drive and a morning drive so the first day we didn't see much...all the more common animals around. The ranger was looking for an aardvark to show us but we didn't manage to find one =( Went lion searching the next morning and found them! They were getting their usual 18 hours of sleep when suddenly one of the female lions stirred...and out of the bush jumped this dumb shit of an impala, straight into the paws of the female. The female proceeded to bite the hell out of its neck and well...the male lion woke up, took the kill and ate it himself.
Although the place was a private reserve, it was still nice...quiet, peaceful..the air was fresh and the view of the lake from my room was nice too. only thing is THE WATER THERE IS BROWN and its quite gross. but got used to it after awhile.
Later that day after we left the safari, we went to this lion park where we could play with lion cubs. I rather have a lion cub than a puppy really. but i rather have a dog than a lion so i think i'll stick with puppies. I don't get why some people are so freakin scared of holding a cub..or animal for that matter. The cub got pissy after awhile cuz people weren't holding him right. And everyone was OMG HE WANTS TO BITE ME!!! doh would you rather be on the ground or carried up by someone whos gonna drop you. It was nice to me though^^
Last 2 days sucked. why? cuz we went to Sun City. Some people say its SA's las vegas. i say its worse than genting. absolutely nothing to do there so i stayed in all day watching movies..because when i DID try to walk around to find SOMETHING to do there were only casinos and more casinos. and playing bingo alone is quite sian so i didnt. and the water theme park looked exactly like sunway lagoon but it was a holiday so there were 9247012947120 people there. could have gone to look at hot babes but...i don't quite like enormous crowds. At least cable there was decent...they have some really dumb shows too...those were mainly late at night so i didn't watch any haha.
SA was fun =)
